Die Cutting

Both of our 2x Heidelberg platens can be used for die cutting, kiss cutting and creasing.

Die cutting involves a metal knife (die forme) shaped to match your design that’s pressed against the sheet to punch it to shape. Our platens can apply over 1 tonne of pressure and we can cut/crease most materials up to around 1.5mm thick.

Kiss cutting is normally used to produce sheets of labels/stickers. We can cut through the top layer of material so that you can peel away the sticky part easily.

Tech Tip:
Like foiling, embossing or debossing we can feed up to SRA3 (460mm x 320mm) size sheets. We have some limitations around the intricacies we can achieve when we make the metal knife. So some complex shapes may need to be simplified to make sure we can bend the knife blend sufficiently to get a good cut. The die formes can take 3-5 days to produce. We will always try to work with you and advise if any changes might be required.
